The UoD College of Dentistry has been running five years undergraduate programme established in November 2008, and the graduates will be awarded a B.D.S degree. After which the graduate must undergo one compulsory calendar year under supervision in a specialised centre of the Ministry of Health in the following branches: conservative dentistry, prosthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontology, oral diagnosis, paediatric, preventive and orthodontic dentistry.

Message from the dean
On behalf of the college, the academic staff, and the administration of the College of Dentistry at Duhok University, I extend to you a warm and sincere welcome to the college.
The college was founded in 2009, and its objective is to graduate dentists with solid, theoretical, and clinical experience. The college opened as part of the College of Medicine with a curriculum of five years of study, similar to the most respected colleges in the world. The teaching staff consists of 25 academic staff members and 30 administrative staff members. Each year, more than 80 students are admitted to the college. The total number of students is approximately 300. Up to now, more than 120 students have graduated from the college, and 8 MSc students have graduated from our college. For the new academic year, the college opened 21 seats for MSc. and 4 seats for PhD.
One of our goals is to provide an educational program that will make you a lifelong learner, while empowering college students to understand and meet the evolving health needs of our society. We are planning to create an academic environment in which dental education, research, and patient oral health care occur concurrently and each one updates and advances the other. It is our obligation to put science into dental practice in an innovative manner. We are proud to say that the college is developing well, both in academic and research as well as non-academic achievements. We are lucky to have our strongest assets, enthusiastic lecturers and staff who are willing to adapt, learn, and strive for the best and the betterment of the college as well as the well-being of the students. We are committed to becoming the model dental college, dedicated to improving the health of the people of Duhok city and its surrounding areas. We are working together with the university administration to furnish them with the latest technology equipment to have modern research laboratories, clinics, and lecture rooms. We have designed it of the best facilities to ensure that we are competent to face critical challenges in providing the finest dental education, research, and oral health services.
